At the end of the Dark Mile and just before you arrive at the shoreline of Loch Arkaig, a small bridge takes you over the River Cia-Aig. Here the river cascades into a deep pool, which is known as the witches cauldron.

The waterfalls are spectacular when in spate and it was here that Liam Neeson leapt over the bridge to avoid being captured by the English in the hollywood blockbuster Rob Roy.
